Buying discount tires can be a trap for unwary players. At the same time, purchasing brand new tires, apart from the expense, can also be a bit of a pain due to brand competition, and the amount of time it takes to find the absolute best deal for your budget.
This is where discount tires come into their own, and can make the difference for you and your automotive requirements and or your budget. Whether you are replacing a damaged tire, or looking for replacements for worn tires, generic brands of tires are not to be ignored. Apart from out-right discount prices, there is also the availability to be considered. If you are living outside of a city, or major shopping hub, you may well find that not all brands of brand new tires are available in any case.
It is best to compare between a few different local dealers in tires, this will be of great assistance for all those times you may need to find a set of tires that will easily fit into your budget. There are many retailers to be found littered across the country where a person could probably find a better bargain, but this must be weighed up will the economics of the situation, too. Also, it pays to be aware of the guarantees or warranties that may be attached to the use and life of the tires.
Tires can be found online that with ship tires directly to you, but again economics comes into play, so it would pay you to compare shipping cost as opposed to actually getting them yourself. Some times it can be a safer and better bargain to research your local area for places that have the best deals, and there are many local specialty tire retailers that can take the time to install your tires as well, for a small fee.
Finding the right tires for your car and budget, ultimately will come down to how much effort you are willing to expend on the project, to get the most out of the money that you are willing to spend. Armed with this information, you can be better prepared to find the best bargain out there for yourself, and certainly for the best pricing available to you whilst looking for discount tires.

Ummmm… When you say “brand new tires” do you maybe mean “brand NAME tires”?
‘Cause even discount tires, when purchased from a retailer are “brand new”.
Also, when you say “whereas generic brand tires, apart from being cheaper, are no less safe to drive on,” do you have any evidence to back this up? Consumer Reports testing? DOT report? You just baldly assert it, without a single word to back it up. I seem to recall a few recalls of discount tires in recent years…
