Are You Eligible for a Car Lease

I am desperate for a new car, my current wheels are constantly letting me down on a daily basis, if it is not the engine overheating, it is normally the clutch or gearbox giving me jip. I have just about had enough of the car and want it gone. So here you will see what are the possible options to purchase a car in this case.

The problem comes that if I dispose of this car, I have to have a replacement so I can get to work. I work in a place where no public transport runs. I start at such an early hour, I am unable to find an alternative mode of transport, and lastly as I am on timed deliveries I have to be on time every day, reliability is paramount and a must in my line of work. One lost delivery schedule could result in thousands of pounds of stock going to waste.

I do not like banks or building societies, so I need to explore if I am eligible for a car lease contract. I contacted a contract lease company for some advice, and check if I as a private individual can lease a car. Well the guy went on to explain how a contract lease works. I would pay a deposit followed by either thirty-six monthly payments or sixty depending if I wish to spread the cost of the car. The contract lease company would pay for all the servicing and repairs. If I chose the five-year period they would also be responsible for the yearly checks after the third year. Even the road tax is covered, all I have to do is pay the fixed monthly amount and put petrol in. At the end of my chosen lease agreement period, I simply hand the car back. This is the bit I do not like, as it makes this option like renting.

The guy went on to explain about purchase leasing af bil, as my Danish friends say leasing of a car. In this case, a deposit is paid and the same terms are applied when it comes to the lease period. The main difference is that I would be responsible for all the maintenance and running repairs. I have to have the servicing done by the main dealer, and I have to keep up with the manufacturers servicing and routine maintenance schedule, to keep the warrantee up to date, and current. At the end of the purchasing privat leasing, the car is mine to keep.

I liked this option and requested the information pack to be posted as soon as possible. I will sign the agreement and I will have to wait to see if I am accepted and approved for a purchase lease agreement. Just over a week or so, I received the acceptance letter and reference number to give to the main dealer.

I was given a list of participating main dealers, I had agreed on a maximum amount I could spend on the car, so it was now down to make, model and fuel type. Easy and much better than the alternatives.
