Audi a3 Concept Will Debut in Geneva in March

Audi released the first official sketches and information on the new concept A3. It prefigures a sports sedan which is positioned in size between A1 and A4. The new concept will officially debut at the Motor Show in Geneva.

 
The new concept will complement the sedan Audi A3 A3 model range. The new convertible version will join the sedan, three-door hatchback and five-door Sportback. Audi wants to expand its model range to attract a more diverse number of clients. This move is part of the German Volkswagen Group to become the largest automaker by 2018.

The new concept features a 2.5-liter engine, capable of developing 408 bhp engine. The new sedan is considered the spiritual successor of the Audi 80 and shares the platform with the Volkswagen Jetta. Audi said the main markets are China, Russia and North America, the Germans reasoned that these markets prefer model sedans, hatchbacks are more popular sites in Europe.

Concept Audi A3 receives the same design elements as the new A6 and A8. In terms of size, the new sedan measures 4440 mm in length, 188 mm shorter than the current Jetta and 260 mm shorter than the A4. Audi model series could present in 2012 and RS3 model performance could start in 2015.
