Driving The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo

It’s been said that you can sell a man’s car to a woman but you can’t sell a woman’s car to a man. While the concept may be sexist, there are signs in the real world where this may actually be the case. Over the last few decades, there have been a few cars that fit into the “chick car” category but few of them have been overwhelming hits because they just don’t appeal to half the buying public.

 

Volkswagen’s New Beetle found itself in that category. Initially, the New Beetle was such a revelation, a concept car come to life and a throwback to an immortal design, that it appealed to everyone. As the car progressed through its dozen production years, its cuteness earned it a place in the hearts of many women just as it lost many of its male fans.
