Flying Car 2012: Terrafugia Will Show Flying Car in New York

At the International Auto Show in New York, the flying car will be displayed.  The air and road worthy vehicle is called Transition.

The flying car is a four wheeled vehicle with folding wings and a rear-facing “pusher” propeller..

 The machine may be ready for the road and the air, but there are many hurdles to be faced before it becomes airborne. 

These include flight training and licensing, and the public ’s inclination or preference to stick with traditional vehicles.

Car people seem impressed with the design and technology of the flying car, but are skeptical if it will appeal to a broader audience.

The price tag so far on Transition, the flying car is about $279,000.
