Proper tire maintenance is another money-saving method that is easy to handle.  Unless you have the proper tools and training, it is advisable to have regular tire rotations handled by a trusted mechanic.  There are do-it-yourself steps that you can take at home, though.  Check your air pressure in your tires regularly, and keep an eye out for dangers such as nails or glass in your driveway or parking lot.  Pay attention to the tread on your tires.  Worn or slick treads can be dangerous, resulting in a loss of traction and stopping ability on the road.  It is to be expected that tires will need to be replaced, but the appropriate care can help them last as long as possible.
