“By leveraging IJEPA scheme (Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement), we are planning to include the Lexus GS 350 F Sport to Indonesia,” says GM Marketing Planning PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) Widyawati Soedigdo, in Nagoya, Japan, Thursday.
He explained through IJEPA scheme, the Lexus GS 350 F Sport gets imported directly from Japan duty-free facility, so the price can be more competitive with other luxury car market in Indonesia.
“The price (Lexus GS 350) is still not determined, but still above Rp 1 billion per unit,” he said.
At the opening of the Tokyo Motor Show to reporters, yesterday (30/11) President Director of Toyota Motor Corp. (TMC) Akio Toyoda said the series is the latest generation Lexus GS with a luxurious sporty design.
The new car is planned to be launched in Japan in early 2012.
Lexus GS 350 F Sport carries a 3.5-liter V6 is equipped with four valves per cylinder, dual variable valve timing, dynamic rear steering, and other elements to make the car a sporty luxury car comfort.
In Indonesia, Lexus marketing conducted since November 2007. From 2007 until August 2011, sales of luxury cars made by TMC for all variants was greater than the number 1,000 in Indonesia.
