Michigan’s Motorcycle Helmet Law

The following is a description of the risks of Michigan’s new law.

The new Helmet law states that rider’s who are over 21 and have a least 2 years of experience can choose whether or not to wear a helmet. The only other stipulation is that they carry at least 21000 dollars in health insurance, however this part of the law may not be properly understood or enforced. The problem with this law is obvious, and that is not matter, how experienced or skilled a rider is, even if the rider make’s no mistake’s it still wouldn’t matter. Their other people on the road that will make mistakes and, the biker, and the biker’s family and friend’s life’s may never be the same. Even if the rider lives the chance of brain damage and serious head injuries are far greater, than those who wore helmets.
