Pedestrian Protection: BMW X1 First, Ahead of Audi Q5

BMW X1 shows excellent results in tests for safety, which was performed by OEAMTC from Austria.

X1 received high marks in all categories of safety, the highest plank of these tests: five stars in Euro NCAP tests for the safety of passengers.

When assessing the protection of pedestrians, BMW X1 was higher on the head in comparison with other small SUVs, including the VW Tiguan, Mercedes GLK and Audi Q5. BMW X1 scored 23 out of 36 possible points for pedestrian protection, and shows improvement over first generation – BMW X3 (E83).

The good performance of X1 is the optimum form of the front section and the use of multiple energy-absorbing plastic, body parts, hood and front bumper.

Competitors VW Tiguan and Mercedes GLK scored 16 and 17. The new Audi Q5 has earned 12 points for the Q7 with 15 points, but Kia with its no-premium  model: “Sorento” – scored 16 points.

Test results are pretty impressive, such as others BMW X1 parameters, good traction, engine horse power, fuel economy and body design. Be sure that BMW is a trusted, time checked brand!
