Roads Closed for Quiot Festival Parade

Isabel, Leyte – In order to have an orderly festival parade, some major streets in the poblacion will have to be closed to give way to the 2nd Quiot Festival Parade on Sunday, January 15. The Quiot Fes­tival is one of the highlights of this year’s fiesta celebration.

Isabel PNP together with the lo­cal government unit and in coordi­nation with Kabalikat CIVICOM, take charge of this year’s festival crowd control but reinforcements  from Philippine Army and the Pro­vincial Public Safety Company will also assist to beef up security.

Isabel PNP Chief, Joel R.Camacho revealed that starting 8:00 a.m until 12:00 noon, the fol­lowing streets are already closed for parking of vehicles in prepara­tion for the parade: Bonifacio St., Osmena St., National Highway, Evangelista St. and Quezon St. Ve­hicles, including potpots, are still allowed to pass along these streets. 

Exactly 12:00 noon, during the start of the parade, all the said streets will be strictly closed. Ca­macho advised visitors as well as other individuals who have vehi­cles, to park these at the New Bus Terminal as they will be imple­menting “No Entrance” strictly. He added that those who will ride in the service buses of PASAR and Philphos will have to wait in the New Bus Terminal as these bus ser­vices are no longer allowed to en­ter the poblacion. Drop off for pas­sengers will likewise be at the New Bus Terminal.
