Some of The Most Expensive Cars of Today

Do you have an extra $1.7 million lying around in your estate vault? If so, have we got a car for you! The Bugatti Veyron will set you back a mere $1,700,000 and is considered by most to be the most expensive "street legal" automobile available today. It was clocked in July 2010 at a top speed of 267 mph. It also accelerates quickly — how does 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds sound to you?

It was clocked in July 2010 at a top speed of 267 mph. It also accelerates quickly — how does 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds sound to you?

Are you a fan of antique autos? A 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe sold in 1987 for $8.7 million. Enough said.

Can a 1994 model still make it to the top? It can if it’s the McLaren F1. This car, built in 1994 was the most expensive and fastest car of that year. It can go 240 mph and can still reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. At $970,000 it’s a steal (when compared to the Bugatti Veyron, that is).

You’ve no doubt heard of the $670,000 Ferrari Enzo. With its cool looking doors (they pivot up and toward the front of the car before coming to a rest vertically), this car also can reach a cool 217 mph and hit 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. They’re quite the collector’s item, only 400 of these cars were made and they now go for — if you can find one — upwards of $1 million.

An American-made car also makes it into the realm of the über-expensive “supercar” category with the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. At $555,000 the Saleen is a ‘bit” more affordable for the average Joe. It will make it to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds (faster than the Enzo!) and also can go 248 mph — faster than the Enzo. Take that, Ferrari fans!

Not one to shift gears? The Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren Roadster boasts the fastest automatic transmission automobile in the world, reaching 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of more than 206 mph. At under half a million dollars ($495,000) we can totally see this beauty sitting in our driveway…

Talk about affordability! The Porsche Carrera GT, at “just” $440,000, offers stability control at its top speed of more than 205 mph. You’ll get from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance. I must say you have done a amazing job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Firefox. Outstanding Blog!
