Volkswagen golf is a family car that has been manufactured by the Volkswagen Company since 1974. This car has been brought to the world-wide market and then sold over six generations. This car has been sold under various name plates in the various regions and sold under various body types.

In the United States this car is sold under the name of Volkswagen Rabbit. In Canada it is renowned as the Mk1 and the Mk5. In Mexico it is sold under the name of Mk1 and Volkswagen Caribe.

Volkswagen Golf is astounding and astonishing in all senses. It is esteemed to be the car that is the best selling model in the Volkswagen collection of cars and when it comes to the cars that are sold all around the world it is the third bestselling car from amongst them all. This name was derived and formulated at a time when the Volkswagen was using the name of various winds to name their models of the cars. The word gulf stream is a German word. Volkswagen even named an automobile Passat. This name was derived from the German word that means the trade wind.  They have another model that is known as Volkswagen Jetta. The word Jetta was taken from the name of the wind known as jet stream.  The Volkswagen Bora took its name after the winds Bora.

Golf is also a sport. The name of the car was also chosen in this respect and essence. It has the honour of sharing this theme with two other cars polo and derby.
