They say you can tell a lot about a person by the way they speak or how they dress. What about your choice of car? What does that say about you as a person? Some psychologists say quite a bit can be learned from a person’s car preferences and habits.
Color
You might expect the personality of a person who chooses a white car to be quite different from one who purchases a fire engine red shade of automobile. The person who selects a bright red shade of car may be attention seeking and a bit impulsive, and is probably the life of the party. In contrast, the person who chooses a neutral shade of car might be a bit more conservative, not wanting to be the center of attention. Interestingly enough, black was the most frequent car shade chosen by the ultra ambitious, success driven individual.
Model
The person who chooses a red Camaro complete with spoiler on the back is certainly going to fall into a different demographic group than the two gray haired ladies cruising in a Cadillac at twenty miles per hour in the fast lane. One is more likely to get a speeding ticket, while the latter car is going to get a few choice words aimed in their direction for blocking traffic. When you see a Chevrolet Corvette speeding down the road with the top down and a balding head gleaming in the sun, do you not envision a midlife crisis? In contrast, a mini-van might bring to mind an active family filled with children and pets.
Condition
Have you ever peeped into a car window only to see the floor and seats littered with last Sunday’s paper, Hardee’s wrappers, yesterday’s lunch, and store receipts dating back to last month? You can probably safely conclude the person is either a youngster or an older person who’s quite disorganized and happy go lucky. In contrast, if a car interior is sparse with clean upholstery and carpeting with a simple briefcase and cell phone on the seat, you can conclude that the car’s either brand new or you’re dealing with a highly organized, obsessive compulsive type. Which type would you rather have working for you? In an ideal world, a car inspection would be a mandatory job interview requirement.
Yes, it’s true. A person’s car choice can speak volumes about their general personality and habits so if you’re concerned with your image, choose your next car with care!
