A word to the wise. If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
A South Carolina woman, thinking she was getting an Apple iPad at an incredible low price of $180 soon came to the realization that she had just bought a piece of wood.
According to a police report, Ashley McDowell, 22, was in a McDonald’s parking lot where she was approached by two men claiming to have purchased a large amount of iPads and now were selling them for the bargain price of $300 each.
Miss McDowell told them she only had $180, which the men kindly accepted as payment.
After giving away her money and driving home, McDowell finally opens up her FedEx box, only to find out, the hard way, she’d been hoodwinked. McDowell had bought a block of wood, that was framed with black tape and had an Apple logo and iOS icons pasted to it.
This is when she called the police.
The police are looking for the men who were last scene in Chevy Impala.
