So you would like to buy a car but have no clue where to start fresh out of high school, and your parents house but you don’t know where to start. Well financing is provided in many ways. One the banks finance you but many provide high interest rates, The Credit unions provide lower interest but require a cosigner or higher credit scores. Most dealerships will help you with financing many will even give you financing based on credit.
To establish good credit go out and get a credit card just one. Charge a few things then pay it off at the end of every month this will show that you are a great risk to give a car to. Your suggested financing is from a credit union. most require that you make 1500-2000 per month for the average car. I would apply with one before you go shopping and get a blank check that you can write to a dealership.
Then you have all you need to start go out find the car you would like and start negotiating for it doing this lowers the cost that you pay overall for a car. The dealership may ask 17000 for the car but you don’t necessarily have to pay this since your dealing with credit union financing already they just have to sell the car to you. They don’t know what your limit is and you can walk away at any time.
This should be an experience that you enjoy, and if you don’t like the deal or price paid for the car you can leave and walk away at anytime before taking the car off the lot. I’m sure the bank doesn’t mind you shopping elsewhere that you can enjoy the experience at.
