If a radiator in your home is not working properly, it may mean that an airlock is present stopping the hot water from flowing through it as normal. Your radiator may be making gurgling sounds or be hot at the bottom but still cold at the top- these are both signs of trapped air. If you do have an airlock, then the radiator will require bleeding. Here’s a quick guide on how to bleed your radiator:
1. You need a radiator key, if you don’t have one at home, then you can buy one in most DIY or hardware stores. Insert the key in the side of the radiator and screw anti-clockwise to allow the flow of air to escape, you should hear the hissing sound of the air being expelled. Do this quite carefully and as soon as any water comes out tighten it up quickly. Hold a container underneath to catch any water that may drip out.
2. If you find that there is no air in the radiator and it is full of water, yet still cold – you may find that the automatic radiator valve has seized. Take the cover off again and depress the central spindle carefully. Smear the spindle with Vaseline to help prevent any future seizures.

1. I do agree with all the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They’re very convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are very short for newbies. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
