Also, give cars around enough time for when you are turning or changing lanes. It can take much longer to brake when in snowy or icy environments. Giving ample time for other drivers will keep you and them safe.

Keep in mind that when you do skid turn your wheels towards the direction of the skid. Turning them away will just cause your vehicle to skid even more. Turn towards it to get out of the skid. Also, make sure you invest in some snow tires if you can. They are much more durable and can help when driving up or down hill. If you can’t buy snow tires for all four at least buy them for the back two.
