This unique prototype has just been dragged from a Shropshire barn and is to get a full restoration. The car is thought to be the prototype 1961 Alexander Turner GT Coupe driven to great success by former Battle of Britain Hurricane pilot Wing Commander Ken (Mac) Mackenzie.Financed by Turner agent Alexander Engineering of Hadden-ham, Buckinghamshire, the one and only Alexander Turner GTwas built specifically for racing with a lightweight aluminium body designed by Mackenzie – with the assistance of Mike Parkes and Tim Frybuilt by Williams & Pritchard to accept a slightly modified Turner ladder-frame chassis.Finished in June 1961, it used Triumph front suspenion in the front of the car.
