This afternoon I opened my mail to find a ticket for parking at a school I never even attended. In fact I haven’t even visited anyone in that school in almost 20 years. So how is it that I am getting a ticket for parking there?
Naturally upon receiving a ticket you want to get it taken care of immediately so as to keep yourself out of trouble. However, my urgency was more of the “proving my innocence” type. Plus, even though I just received the ticket in the mail today it has to be paid in the next five days or they tack on a $10 fee. So of course I made a phone call to their office right away to try to get this settled.
Did you know that when a parking ticket is written out the officer writing it is supposed to write not only the cars plate number but the make and model of the car as well? This little fact didn’t occur to me as I was calling but as I was puzzled at how my license plate number was obtained in the first place I started asking questions. It seemed to me that if they had my plate number they had to have some type of proof that it was me. That was when I was told that the car that was written on the report was a completely different make, model and color than mine! Needless to say I am appealing this ticket and have provided the information given to me in my appeal.
Whenever you get a ticket or bill that you know does not belong to you there is no reason why you should have to pay it. It’s your money so why be cheated out of it? Don’t let someone else’s mistakes cost you money!

Sadly something like that could happen. Just goes to show you that someone else can really mess you up.
