Greetings, dear readers. I read today on Autoblog that Volkswagen may move the Bulli concept car, which was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, to production. The Bulli, pictured above, has Type-2 influence all over it’s design language, and looks great today, but how the aging of Chrysler’s PT Cruiser and Chevrolet’s HHR went makes me feel a bit of trepidation about getting too excited. On the other hand, the refreshed New Beetle isn’t exactly terrible looking, and to see Volkswagen tap their heritage is a wonderful alternative to the increasingly boring designs of the stalwart Jetta and Passat sedans. The concept Bulli is motivated by a 113 horse electric motor running of of a Li-Ion battery setup, and is claimed to get 186 miles per charge. Volkswagen’s press release that accompanied the Bulli also hinted at 1.0 and 1.4 liter gas and/or diesel motivations, too.
