Suppose you were given the choice of two cars, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S or the Ferrari F430, which one would you choose? They are the German and Italian interpretations of the sports car idea, and a different sides of the same coin. The owner of each company, was honed in racing, more than 50 years ago, and with integrity in both style and engineering. The two companies have been put in head-to-head battles and comparisons have been made, whether on the streets or racing at Le Mans. These two names have long been associated with performance and style.

Neither the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S or the Ferrari F430, pretend to be anything but a sports car. The Porsche is more methodical, while the Ferrari is passionate, but both try to maintain a reasonable amount of practicality, at the same time astonishing with their performance. There are several features that a modern day sports car should have, such as easily maneuvering around town, and being started without any trouble. It should also perform on a racetrack or the back roads, while being completely safe at the same time. Since both cars have managed to master the requirements of the modern sports car, their figures will need to be measured. This seems to be the only way to separate these cars, and choose which one is the most phenomenal.
You have to be impressed by the lightning fast acceleration of 4-second 0-100km/h of the Ferrari, and their thrilling exhaust tone. The 4.3-litre V8 new generation engine, pushes out 368 kilowatts, as it pins you and your occupant to your seats. Porsche offers similar acceleration numbers, but is 0.8 seconds slower. It is only natural for the two cars to excel in braking, with such good performance in acceleration. The impressive stopping comes from the optional ceramic discs they both offer. The engine of the Porsche does better on the fuel economy, going 100 km on 11.8 liters compared to Ferrari at 18.3 liters. They each offer top rate handling performance, along with power through 6-speed gearboxes.
The space is limited in both F430 and Carrera 4S, but the occupants don’t feel flustered and claustrophobic, as the interior comfort is great. The Ferrari has an impressive array of suede, carbon fiber, and aluminum, but the high level of finish attained by the Germans, gives the Italians no chance. Any super car has the key elements of speed and silence, but the biggest draw is its look and appearance. Even though the Carrera 4S is a great looking car, like any Porsche, it doesn’t create the same reaction that the Ferrari gets. No matter what you say about the looks of the Porsche, the simple truth is the attention is drawn by the Ferrari F430.
The Ferrari may take your breath away with its looks, but the Porsche Carrera 4S has a more complete package all around, so it wins the title of super car.
